The Education of Dr. Gail Weingast

February 27, 2017
Since her educational journey began in 1969, Dr. Gail Weingast’s career path has now encompassed more than forty years. That education began when she attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. Obviously, being a doctor wasn’t part of her initial plan, but she soon attended the School of Medicine at Boston University and she officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976.

Following medical school, Dr. Gail Weingast did everything she needed to, in order to become a great doctor, including a pediatrics internship and residency, as well as a radiology residency and a fellowship in ultrasound, all from Colorado General Hospital in Denver. She completed her education as a post-graduate student radiologist at Denver’s St. Anthony’s Hospital. For the last couple decades, she has been a radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Connecticut. There, she is the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging and she is credited with transform their radiology department into one of the best in the region and the country.
